I think it really depends on the area you're talking about. In the case of Japan, it's relatively cheap to get delivery. Many restaurants will even delivery to you for free if you call them. Uber Eats delivery is also cheap. But their use case is accessibility for their aging population. In other parts of the world delivery does tend to be more expensive, so cost could be the main factor. As always profitability would boil down to cpm, so to answer that, you'd have to start talking about specific companies.
